What is counseling?
Counseling is far more than "getting something off your chest" or getting advice: It offers a variety of new perspectives and support options that match the individual resources and ideas of the person seeking advice. Together we try to classify problems, to understand them, to see them more clearly and to tackle changes. These steps make it possible to solve the problems - thoroughly and sustainably. Confidentiality helps to ensure an open and fearless exchange.
Reachability: daily from Monday to Friday from
9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m or by phone at
0201-37644050 and at any time by email (info@ibz-nrw.de).
Please register by calling the number first 0201-37644049 (Secretariat for Consultation Matters).
Upon arrival, your temperature will be taken and your hands will be sanitized.
Please always bring your ID with you so that we can enter you in our system and give you a number.
A student ID or health insurance card does not count as ID.
We also ask for your understanding if there may be waiting times despite making an appointment.
choice of study or career
Choosing a course or career is usually a long process that is made more difficult than easier by the abundance of opportunities available to schoolchildren today.
On the one hand, it is our responsibility to open up opportunities by helping to awaken and promote interests and skills as broadly as possible with all subjects and extracurricular activities (e.g. AGs).
On the other hand, it is our job to provide orientation and help by enabling students to decide on a career path. To do this, we offer them the space they need to recognize and reflect on their inclinations and abilities, as well as their weaknesses.
Our goal is to encourage all students and people to consciously include their personal interests and strengths, wishes and circumstances when choosing a career, so that it can be the first step towards a secure and happy future.
It is our wish to involve parents in this process. They are the ones who have the most influence over their children's decisions. Cooperation with the parents is an indispensable pillar in the overall concept.
